The Apostles Prayer [Acts 4]

O Sovereign LORD, You created heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. And by the Holy Spirit you spoke to our ancestor David. He was your servant, and you told him to say: “Why are all the Gentiles so furious? Why do people make foolish plans? The kings of earth prepare for war and the rulers join together against the Lord and his Messiah.” Here in Jerusalem, Herod  and Pontius Pilate got together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel. Then they turned against Your holy Servant  Jesus, Your chosen Messiah. They did what You in Your power and wisdom had already decided would happen.  Lord, listen to their threats! We are your servants. So make us brave enough to speak Your message.  Show Your mighty power, as we heal people and work miracles and wonders in the name of Your holy Servant Jesus. {Acts 4:24-30}

Prayer of Thanksgiving [Psalm 138]

With all of my heart LORD, I give you thanks for you unconditional love that loved me first and loves me perfectly. I thank You Father for being the ultimate promise keeper, for being faithful to Your word and to Your people. Thank You for giving Jesus a name above all other names and for revealing Your glory in Him to whom every king on earth will someday bow. Thank You Father for being gracious and kind, for regarding the lowly. Thank You for being our Rock, Refuge and our Hiding Place in the time of storms. Thank you for calling us and giving us a purpose. Thank You for the promise that You will complete what you have started and that You have put in us the desire to live a life that brings pleasure to You. In the majestic name of Jesus, I pray. Amen!

Prayer For Children and Grandchildren

[Based on Psalm 142]

Father, I lift my voice in supplication to You. I pour my heart out to You. I have no secrets from You. I am not ashamed to tell You that I need You and I need the Holy Spirit to intercede in my behalf because I lack the wisdom to articulate the right prayer. My burden is for my children and grandchildren. My enemy, the prince of this world, the prince of darkness is trying to steal my joy by hurting that which I hold dear. He and his devious world system are attacking my children and grandchildren. He is bombarding them with lies. He is offering them a phony love and acceptance. Their desire to be popular is greater than their desire to serve You. They are confused about real love. They don’t understand that Jesus is the only one who can meet their deepest needs. I come to You Lord, I have no other place to go: You are the only One who can help. You are the only One who has the power to make all things work together for good. Save my children and grandchildren from the seductive powers of the world. Give them a desire to know you intimately and to love you supremely. Surround them with righteous people and do not let them be led into temptation. Forgive me Father for failing to be the proper example and a faithful intercessor on their behalf. In the Magnificent name of Jesus I pray. Amen!

Prayer of Significance

Heavenly Father, You are far greater than any success or failure that I will ever experience.  The truth is that Your approval is far more important than the opinions of those who stand on the sidelines of my life, for or against me.  I want to honor You by walking in that truth.  Help me to focus on Your Son and the peace, grace, and hope that I have in Him. Help me to appropriate this grace in my life – no matter what else may happen.  In the awesome name of Jesus, I pray. Amen!

Prayer of Confession [Psalm 43]

Father, no man has wronged me; I am the victim of my own vanity. I need to be rescued from myself. I am oppressed by my own sin-loving lustful nature. I am depressed by my own sin and shame. Shine Your light of truth upon my sin and enable me to see it as You see it. Give me a desire for heavenly treasures not earthy pleasures. Father, You are my refuge. I have no reason to doubt your love. You are my greatest joy and I have nothing but praise for You.  You are unbelievably kind and I would be a fool not to praise You for Your infinite mercy. In the matchless name of Jesus I pray, amen!
