Prayer of Praise and Thanksgiving For Messiah

[Based on Psalm 72]

We praise You Father for Jesus the Son who came to this earth as our Messiah King and His reign will be forever. Long after the sun and moon are gone, He will be King. We praise You that He is a righteous King; He judges people fairly. He has a heart for the poor, for the oppressed, for the children of the needy. His rule is refreshing, like a gentle rain that waters the dry earth. His reign is from sea to shining sea: he the King of all kings and ruler of everything. Everyone bows before him; all nations and all kings will serve Him. He rescues the poor, He saved the helpless, He has pity on the weak, He rescues the needy and  He redeems the oppressed because their lives are precious to HIM. Long live our wonderful KING. Let us be as the wise men and present HIM our gifts; let us bow humbly and pray in HIS holy name; let us recognize that every spiritual blessing comes through HIM. May HIS name be exalted forever; may all nations be blessed through HIM and bring HIM praise. We praise You  O God, the God of Abraham, the great I AM, the eternal self-existent One who does things that are wondrous and unfathomable. You are the incredible, unimaginable, incomprendable God and we praise You. Let the whole earth be filled with YOUR glory. Amen and amen!

Pray of Forgiveness For Irreverence

Father, I have a tendency to rush into Your presence irreverently–speaking my mind and rarely stopping to enjoy Your presence or giving consideration to Who You are or what You have done. My prayers are so much about me that I don’t stop long enough to listen to what You have to say. If my prays were being observed by an audience, I fear they would accuse of being very selfish, as if prayer was primarily about me. I get distracted so easily and there are so many things that hinder me from loving and worshipping You as You deserve. May I be so transformed by the power of Your love that words would not be necessary when I am in Your presence–that simply being in Your presence would be enough to quicken my spirit and lift my soul. In Jesus exalted name I pray. Amen!

Paul’s Prayer For The Philippians

[Philippians 1:9-11, GNB]

I pray that your love will keep on growing more and more, together with true knowledge and perfect judgment; so that you will be able to choose what is best. Then you will be free from all impurity and blame on the Day of Christ. Your lives will be filled with truly good qualities which only Jesus Christ can produce, for the glory and the praise of the Father. In the name of the Son, Jesus, I pray. Amen!

King Asa’s Prayer

[II Chronicles 14:11, NLT]

O LORD, no one but You can help the powerless against the mighty! Help us O LORD our God, for we trust in You alone. It is in Your name that we have come against this vast horde. O Yahweh, You are the One we worship: do not let men prevail against You. Amen!

Psalm 68 [Praise and Confession]

Father of Orphans, Champion of widows, God of holiness and happiness–we worship You now and forever. Father, You are our eternal resting place, our Creator and Redeemer. Father, You make us glad; You make us rejoice exceedingly and we praise You for being greater than creation. Before You our enemies flee, You are the God of victory. You are the bountiful and benevolent One; the maker of the mountains. Praise You Father and praise to Our Savior who literally carries us in His arms of grace. Blessed be the Lord Jesus who has saved us from death and hell. Father we should be so overcome with joy and emotion that we would march into the sanctuary this Sunday singing your praises as we enter. We should be so happy that we dance down the isles. But we don’t and we wont, because we are more concerned about what others think than we are about what You think. It is a huge part of our sin and shame. We should be telling everyone about Your goodness, grace and greatness but we are afraid not to be politically correct. Forgive us Father, we are weak and wicked. You are awesome and You will manifest that in the sanctuary if we will praise YOU with our whole heart. Father, give us power and strength to be a people of praise. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

The Missionary Prayer [Psalm 67]

God be merciful to us and bless us and cause Your face to shine upon us. May your ways be known throughout the earth and the saving power of the gospel of Christ to the ends of the earth. May all nations of earth praise You. Let the whole world celebrate Jesus. Let the whole world sing for joy because You are the sovereign One who is enthroned above all creation. May all people everywhere praise You for all your wonderful blessings. Let all nations have respect for You and honor Your name. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!

Psalm 66 [Confession and Repentance]

Father we cannot read these Psalms without feeling convicted about our less than passionate worship: we should be shouting praises to You but in truth, the person sitting next to us cannot hear our voice in song. Our effort is pitiful when it should be passionate. You are an awesome God and You are worthy of our worship and praise. One day the entire population of earth will worship You: everyone will be shouting Your praises. Right now we should be excited about what You have done for us; so excited that we cannot keep it to ourselves. We have no doubt that we are here today because of Your grace and mercy. We worship You has our eternal Sovereign. We know that your eye is upon every nation, even those who would defy You. We long for and do believe that one day the whole world will bless You and sing Your praises. Our lives are in Your hands O merciful Father; a part from Your providential grace we would have been destroyed long ago. Please help us to take worship seriously. The next time we are gathered with your people in your house, let us sing with all our soul and strength. May we fear You to the point of reverence. May we praise You to the point of exhaustion. Let us pour ourselves out as a drink offering, giving You our all and keeping nothing for ourselves. LORD, if we will get honest and confess our sins, there is no telling what You would do in response. Forgive us of our ignorance and hear our plea for revival. Our need for spiritual renewal is desperate. We do praise You O God that because of Christ, You do hear our prayers. We also praise You for loving us first and for loving us unconditionally. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!

Psalm 65–Prayer Of Thanksgiving

Father, we bow in humble gratitude, praising You for Your infinite goodness. You hear our prayers–You forgive our sins–You have given us victory in Jesus our wonderful Savior forever–You have caused the gospel to spread through out the world by the power of Your Spirit–By Your power, You establish mountains–By Your power, You calm the seas. We stand in awe of your infinite greatness. You care for the land–You send the rain–You fill the streams with water–You make the crops grow–You make the harvest happen. You have filled our pastures with flocks and herds and our valleys with grain. You have blessed us abundantly in all things, how could we not give You thanks. We are blessed because of who You are and not because of what we have done. Thank You Father for all Your blessings. In Jesus name. Amen!

Paul’s Prayer In Romans 15

I pray that God, the source of our patience and encouragement, will enable you to have the same point of view as Jesus who never lived to please Himself but rather to please His Father and to serve others. I pray that Christ will make us patient and cheerful and that He will help us live in peace with one another. I pray that you will be on the same page, singing the same song, a song of praise to the LORD Jesus Christ and a song of gratitude to God the Father. I pray that God, who gives hope, will bless you with complete joy and peace because of your faith in Christ and that your hope will continually grow by the power of the Holy Spirit. May God our source of peace be with you all. Amen!

Psalm 63 [Pray for Revival and Celebration of His love]

Father, You are God the object of my worship. My heart longs for spiritual renewal like a dry and dusty land longs for rain. O that You would manifest Your power and Your glory in our worship. I know Father that our worship comes miserably short of what You deserve. Your unconditional love [that we experience through our relationship in Christ] is better than life itself. It is hard to imagine an existence a part from Jesus love. As long as I have body, breath, and brains, I will pray to You and I will sing praises to You. I think about you before I got to sleep and night. I think about You when I awake during the night. I think about You when I rise and I know that it is not possible for me to think more of you than You think of me. That thought alone is better than a steak dinner. LORD, I want to stay as close to You as possible. I would have no objection to You taking me by the hand. I do have enemies LORD and they dream of my disgrace but I had rather focus on You than them. I know that you will vindicate all who trust in YOU. I just want to celebrate Your love and be faithful to Your call. In Jesus name I pray, amen!
