C.H. Spurgeon Prayer

LORD Jesus, cause me to know in my daily experience, the glory and sweetness of Thy name, and then teach me how to use it in my prayer, so that I may be even like Israel [Jacob], the prince of prevailing prayer. Thy name is my passport, and secures me access; Thy name is my plea, and secures my answer; Thy name is my honor and secures my glory. Blessed Name [Jesus], Thou art honey in my mouth, music in the ear, heaven in the heart and all in all to my being.

A Prayer For My Enemies

English: Minnesota state photograph "Grac...

Father, You are my Protector, my Victory and my Hope. If I should ever receive honor, it will be because of Your grace. I know that all believer’s have at least one enemy but I’m confident that I have more than one. Grant to me the grace to focus on You and not the lions in my den. The one exception to this request is that I might focus on them when I pray and that I would honor Jesus teaching and pray for my enemies. As David prayed, so I pray that You would break their teeth, their malicious spirit that desires to hurt and harm. Take their anger and bitterness and give them peace and joy. I pray that you would fill them with Your love and holiness. When I think about it, my enemies and I actually have the same needs: we need Your grace and mercy. I do pray for their forgiveness because they do not know what they are doing. I also celebrate my victory in Jesus, my Savior forever. In His perfect name I pray. Amen!
