Men ought always to pray, and not to faint.

Plea For Mercy [Psalm 77]

Father, I cry out to you for help. This is nothing new, I always come to You with my problems. I am suffering from intrusive thoughts. I have negative thoughts that disturb my peace. My soul refuses to be comforted. I want to put my burden into words but I don’t seem to be able to express my feelings. I keep thinking about the past and the things You did long ago. I think about Peter and John healing the cripple man in Jesus name and I wonder why we can’t heal in Jesus name. I think about the signs and wonders that You performed in the early church and then I think about the church today. They had miracles and we have a mess. They were boldly fishing for men; while we are belligerently fighting for rights. They embraced the cross of Christ but we embrace our comfort. I wonder Father, has my generation crossed the line. Have we been disobedient so long that You are weary of messing with us. I do not know the answer to that question but I do know that Your are Holy in all your ways and Righteous in all You do. By Your great power, You walked through the Red Sea and did not even leave a foot print: You saved Israel of old and You will save Israel today. Your power is awesome, infinitely greater than storm. You can shut down nations in a heartbeat without working up a sweat. I do hope Father that we have not grieved Your Holy Spirit. I do pray for REVIVAL and REFORMATION in the church but revival or not, I know that You are in absolute control and in the end, Christ will be glorified before the nations. It is a comfort to know that our disobedience, as black and ugly as it is, will never trump Your faithfulness. Your kingdom will come, hallelujah and Christ will get glory. In Jesus name I pray. Amen and amen!

The Apostles Prayer

Father, You are the One who created everything in the world. We confess that the Holy Spirit spoke through David concerning how the world would react to Christ the Messiah. Why are the nations in an uproar of the mere mention of His name? Why do people conspire to squelch the name of Jesus? Why is His beloved name politically incorrect? Why do people fight against You when there is no way they can win? We admit that powerful leaders world-wide have set themselves against Christ Your Anointed One. It is not far-fetched Father, Pilate consented to the death of Jesus. He conspired with the Jewish religious leaders. These people did not know what they were doing. They did not understand that they were fulfilling prophecy. They did not understand that His death was a part of Your plan. Now Father, listen to what they are saying, “Speak no more in the name of Jesus,” they say. They are trying to make us afraid. They want to intimidate us and keep us silent. We are Your servants Father; our will is to obey Your command. Help us to say what You want us to say. Help us to be brave by showing us Your power. Make sick people well. Cause miraculous signs to happen by the authority of Jesus, Your most Holy Servant. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!

Prayer Of Praise [Psalm 146]

I praise You omnipotent Father; my hearts desire is that I will always praise You no matter what the circumstances. I depend upon You Father. I do not put my trust in politicians or other human leaders. I do not rely on the government to provide, protect or to save me. Father, You and You alone can save me. I confess that Jesus Christ is LORD and that He is the way, the truth and the life and that no man can come to You except through Him. The LORD Jesus is my Shepherd and Savior: I want no other. Father, it is a great blessing to know that we can call upon You in our distress. You are good and Your word is trustworthy. We know that You will always do right by us. You have fed us when we were hungry. In Christ, You broke the bonds of sin that had enslaved us. You touched our eyes and enables us to the see the truth that Jesus is LORD. You help the humble and the broken-hearted. You love those who no one else cares for: the elderly and have been put aside, the children who are not wanted by mother or father, the little infants in the womb that are ripped apart by the abortionists. You even love the mother that consents to the death of her child and the butcher who takes the child’s life. LORD, Your love is amazing. Father you are in control. You are the ruler of all things and you rule is eternal. Thy kingdom come and Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!

Jeremiah’s Prayer

LORD, there is no one like you. You are great! Your name is great and powerful! Everyone should respect you, even the leaders of all the nations. You deserve the respect of everyone, great or small. There are many wise men among the nations, but not one of them is as wise as You.  Father, I have seen the folly of other nations who worship worthless wooden statues. They use the things that You have created to make their idols; they overlay them with gold or silver and then they dress them in expensive robes. Man making his own god out of wood or metal: it doesn’t make sense. LORD, You are God the creator of heaven and earth. You are the only God. You are the one true God.  You are the living God.  You are the sovereign God. The earth shakes when You are angry. No nation or group of nations can stop Your anger. You are greater than our weapons of mass destruction. You can humble us to our knees in a heartbeat. Lord, I know that our lives do not belong to us. We have no control over what happens. So correct us, Lord! But please be merciful and gentle. Don’t punish us in anger, or you will destroy us! Help us to get Your gospel to the nations that do not know and worship You. We long for the day when all nations will respect You. We know that someday they will worship you, even those nations that have despised Israel and hated Christians will someday bow and acknowledge that Jesus is LORD. Father, we await that day when Jesus will make everything right. Don’t let what’s wrong with us keep us from sharing what’s right with HIM. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!

Thanksgiving For The Light

Father, in the beginning, You spoke to the darkness and the chaos that hovered over the earth. By the power and energy of Your word, you separated the darkness from the light and you brought order to the chaos. Today we need that same Spirit of light to dispel the darkness in our lives and to bring order to our chaos. Please bring us into focus with Your divine will. You are bigger than life. A part from You, there is no life.  You are the awesome creator of all that we see and of that which we do not see. You have endowed us with the unique privilege and responsibility of being created in your image. You have given us the ability to think about You. You planted eternity in our hearts. You have given us the desire to seek You, to speak to You, to know You, to commune with You, to worship You and to love You. Our ultimate good is fulfilled in our relationship with You. In Christ You dispelled the darkness like the sunrise dispels the darkness of the night. We praise Thee O God, for the Spirit of Light which has shown us our dear Savior and scattered the night. Hallelujah, Thine the glory. Hallelujah, Amen. Hallelujah, Thine the glory, REVIVE US again. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!
