Prayer of Praise and Thanksgiving

Our Father who is in heaven, Your name should be and will be honored in all of Christendom and throughout the world. You are all mighty and always present. You dwell in the heavens above and in the hearts within. You are everywhere and all things exist because of You. You are the source of life and You set the boundaries as to how far men can go. You are unconquerable: no army can stop you, no earthy power can become your rival. You are above and beyond all human powers. At the blast of Your breath, the word of Your mouth or the thought of Your mind, kingdoms fall and armies perish. Who can stand before You or against You? Your anger is greater than any weapon we can form. Human defiance enhances Your glory. You don’t have to judge us, our sins will bring us low. Only You can save us from our sin. You are glorious and majestic. The highest mountain pales in comparison to You. You are great and awesome and we would be wise to respect YOU and give You our worship and allegiance. You break the power of enslaving sin, You set the captive free. Your blood can make the vilest clean; it even cleansed a sinner like me.

Prayer of Thanksgiving

LORD, You are my light and my salvation, there is no legitimate reason for me to be afraid? You are my fortress, my hiding place, my great protector so why should I tremble with fear? Although the odds are against me, I will not give in to fear because Jesus has defeated sin and evil on the cross. LORD Jesus, I take delight in your perfection. You took on the garb of my flesh and lived in this sin cursed world, yet You never sinned, You never feared, You never failed and You will not start now. You are the huge rock, the cliff that I stand on. Because of Your great might and perfection, my enemies cannot reach me. I celebrate this wonderful salvation with song, praise and thanksgiving. This morning, my heart heard you say, “Come and talk with Me,” and LORD I am talking to YOU. You have always been my helper. Your grace has brought me safe thus far and it will lead me home. My friends and family may abandon me but You never will. Teach me how to live LORD and point me in the right direction. Deliver me from the evil one and give me the wisdom to avoid temptation. I see Your goodness more each day and I long to be in your perfect presence. I am in the land of the dying but I am headed for the land of the living. On this earth, evil seems to prevail but I wait patiently on Jesus return. I am fully confident that He will make all things right. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!

Jeremiah’s Prayer

[Jeremiah’s Prayer, Chapter 17, NIRV]

LORD, You are Israel’s only hope. Everyone who has deserted you is going to be ashamed. There is no life a part from YOU. LORD heal me and I will be healed; Save me and I will be saved. You LORD are the only one I praise. They keep teasing me about my prophecies of judgment not materalizing but how can I long for Your judgment to come, it is not going to be a pleasant thing. You know my heart, You are aware of every word I speak, you know that I do not want to see Jerusalem fall. It strikes terror in my heart to think about the things that are coming. LORD vindicate me before my enemies: let me not be put to shame and deliver me from fear.
