A Prayer For The President

Heavenly Father, You have taught us through Your Apostle to pray for all men everywhere and for our leaders both political and spiritual. We acknowledge our reluctance to pray for a man who disrespects Your word and has contempt for Your people but we confess our sin of prayerlessness may be as grave as his disregard for Your word. We pray for our president, that he could come to a knowledge of truth; that he would understand there is only one God and only one way to YOU and that is the LORD Jesus Christ the only mediator between the finite and the infinite. We pray for You to change his mind, to inspire him to want to preserve our religious freedom so we believers can worship, witness, study, minister and spend our time-serving You and others instead of fighting with the government about our inalienable rights. Father, we know that all believers need to join together in this prayer. Men and women all over America need to lift open hands to You and pray sincerely for the president. We have a tendency to lift up our fist in anger but lifting up open hands in prayer would be better. We know that man’s anger accomplishes very little. It’s Your power and only Your power that can save AMERICA. If America is to be saved, our leaders must change the way they think. Father we invoke Proverbs 21:1,  The Lord can control a king’s mind as he controls a river; he can direct it as he pleases. Please direct our president toward the right and deliver us from evil. At present, we are headed for destruction.  The kingdom belongs to You Father. Our desire is that Your rule come and that You get glory. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

Cain and Abel

Father, honest men put their trust in Thee. Wise men boast only in Christ and His redemptive work and put no confidence in the flesh. People conspire against You and Your people. They say and do things with malicious intent to hurt the cause of Christ. They stay up late at night hatching their diabolical plans. They think that they are working in secret. They are unaware that you watch everything they do and monitor every thought they think. It does not matter how deep their thoughts of treason go, you see them like a picture on a screen. These people are filled with scorn and contempt; they are driven by anger but they do not understand what is motivating them. In their effort to accomplish their will, they do like the ancient Pharaoh and fight against Your will. Like Pharaoh of old, their foolish pride injures not only themselves but all who surround them. They offer you some of their time and money as though it was a sacrifice and it never dawns on them that what you require is not a part of their life, but their death. They don’t understand that You do not negotiate, You terminate. By the power of grace Divine, set my heart on Your will and let it be mine. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!

Prayer For New Direction

Father all of creation is in Your hand. You are the potter, we are the clay. You control out destiny. We live continually at Your mercy. Our situation seems hopeless. My generation seems determined to do things their way. Our worship has even been corrupted by our vain self wills. We walk according to the dictates of our own heart and our hearts are desperately sick. As a nation, we treat You as if You do not exist. We burn incense to worthless idols. We spend billions on trivial pursuits. We work tirelessly to entertain ourselves so that we don’t have time to think. We are stumbling around like a blind man in a room filled with furniture. We are devoid of any real substance. Everything is tensile and sham. We constantly clamor for more rights and greater blessings but we have not given You thanks for the blessing we have. We want more and more but we give thanks less and less. We have strayed from the beaten path that our founding fathers laid before us. We are under the illusion that we are making our own way but actually we are on the broad way that leads to destruction. We are making good time but headed in the wrong direction. Our only hope is repentance but no one wants to repent. Our pride is such that we will not even acknowledge our sins, let alone turn from them. We need Revival. Nothing less will save this wayward and wicked generation. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen!

Ezekiel Nine Prayer Of Repentance

O Sovereign LORD–will your righteous indignation consume America? Some are saying that You have forsaken us. Some are praying for You to damn America for her sins. Others refuse to acknowledge You altogether, they act as if You do not exist. We know that our sins are very great. We confess that the entire country is filled with a spirit of murder and death. We continue to kill the most innocent members of our society, the unborn and no one seems to think that we will be held accountable. We have no conviction of justice and there is no fear of You in the land. We are sowing a bitter harvest and we will reap in due time. We have no one to blame other than ourselves; our twisted thinking and our rebellion against You will be our undoing. Father, You are righteous in Your judgments and just in all Your ways. Please forgive our sins and heal our land. O God we need Revival. Send a great awakening to America or else we will be crushed by our own iniquity.

Petition For Revival

Father, You are great and You are good. Glory and power belong to You. Your wisdom and wealth are infinite. The more You give, the more  You have to give. Your knowledge is complete: there is nothing that You do not know. There are no mysteries with You. You know our hearts and our motives. You are aware of every thought that goes through our mind. You have no problems, no anxieties, no insecurities and no frustrations. You create but do not duplicate. You motivate but do not manipulate. Father, You are all that we are not: we are weak but You are strong; we are frail but You are faultless; we are fearful but You are faithful. Father, the law of prayer is to ask and we ask for wisdom, we need it more than silver or gold. We are overwhelmed by our ignorance. We are like dump sheep, what do know where to go unless You lead us. Father, we are lacking in humility. We do not love our neighbor as much as we love ourselves and we have great difficulty praying for those who persecute us by saying all manor of evil against us. In our limited knowledge, we do know that all spiritual blessing come through Christ and His body the church. We know that it’s never one on one in Your kingdom. If you bless my brother then I shall be blessed for we are both members of the same body. Therefore I ask YOU for Revival. I ask You to do what only You can do, let Your Spirit move upon America. Revive the Body of Christ. This is my petition and I offer it to You in Jesus name.

“My Hope” Prayer

 

Father, I believe that many Americans and others around the world share the sentiment of Job who in despair cried out, “Where is MY HOPE, can anyone find it?” Job felt that his hope had been uprooted like a tree and I think many are inclined to agree. Father, You are the God of my eternal salvation and MY HOPE is in YOU. I take shelter in the integrity of Jesus. I do believe that He is the ultimate promise keeper and MY HOPE is in His word. I join king David in his confession of hope… “Where is MY HOPE, MY HOPE is in God. When I am discouraged and my heart is sad, I put MY HOPE in God.” Father like David of old, I wait quietly before YOU for MY HOPE is in Jesus Christ Your Son and my Savior. Jesus and Jesus alone is MY HOPE. May all who fear You join me in praising Jesus for His infinite goodness. MY HOPE Father is in Your word, Your Spirit and Your Son. Since childhood, MY HOPE has been in You and MY HOPE shall always be in You. I continue to look to YOU for salvation. Jesus Christ is the only hope for America. Have mercy on us O God and send REVIVAL. May we honor You by exalting the name of Jesus and it is in that perfect name that we pray. Amen!

Prayer of Repentance [Jer. 11-12]

Father we know You are both omnipotent and righteous. You always do what is right whereas our inclination is to do what is wrong. You have been gracious to speak to us through the holy scriptures, the prophets, the Spirit and Your Son but we have not listened with respect and we have not obeyed Your instructions. Like ancient Israel, we have stubborn and evil hearts that are set on doing what we want. We are driven by our desires instead of Your decrees. Like Israel of old, we are a nation that worships idols. We have as many idols as we do States, possibly more. We worship the god of sports, entertainment, success, wealth, sex, self-will and I’m sure You can point out many more. Today, our Christian holy day, our sports arena’s will be packed with beer guzzling blasphemers who have not given one thought to Your Son and His sacrifice and then they will stand and sing “God Bless America”. Holy Father, we are all guilty, we stand and sing GOD BLESS AMERICA and our hands are dripping with the blood of the innocent unborn. Indeed do we crave Your blessings but we don’t want your instruction or intrusion into our twisted lives. Jesus is just a craved image on a stick, our blessed co-pilot, our spare tire…we’ll call on HIM when we need Him but at present we are enjoying our sin and rebellion.

 

Father You will never bless our sin and rebellion; You will never condone our evil ways and neither will You allow us to enjoy them. We are dinning on smoke and hot air and in the end we will be as empty as a drum. You have decreed that the way of the transgressor will be hard and so it shall be. We are traveling down a road that has a dead-end and it is the route we choose. We are headed for destruction and the closer we get, the faster we go. We could humble ourselves and beg for mercy but that would require repentance and not even those who attend worship today will repent, let alone the masses that will be entertaining themselves elsewhere. You have Your ways Father: You can humble us. You can allow disaster, drought, foreign nations, famine, disease and a multitude of other things to bring us to our knees. We do acknowledge that it is very foolish for us not to humble ourselves beneath Your mighty hand.

 

Father, You know our hearts and minds: we cannot hide anything from You. You see all our sin and shame whereas we only see a part. In Jesus name, grant us the spirit of repentance. We do wonder in our minds just how long American can survive without turning back to You in sorrow and repentance. Father please have mercy on America and send us REVIVAL and SPIRITUAL REFORMATION. In the perfect name of Jesus we pray. Amen!
